Jamie Watson, 15, of Birmingham, was brutally attacked by three masked youths, who verbally abused him before kicking and punching him for around five minutes. The attack was the culmination of a period of bullying and intimidation by the youths, and had been planned in advance.

He was taken to Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham, where he was treated for  a fractured arm, broken ribs and numerous superficial abrasions as well as injuries to his neck muscles as a result of being repeatedly kicked in the head.

Detective Sergeant James Bennett, from Birmingham’s Violent Crime Team, told The Birmingham Mail: “We are trawling CCTV for any clues and want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen the attack to come forward.

“At this stage we believe the attackers could be local and we are sure someone knows who these men are. This was a truly horrendous attack that left the teenager with severe injuries that needed hospital treatment.

“The attackers showed no regard for their victim and repeatedly kicked him to the head and body. Rest assured that we will do everything we can to find those responsible.

However, Watson’s sister took to the Birmingham Mail’s comment section to say that they had approached the press with the story because of inaction by the police. Following the attack, the offenders have continued their campaign of intimidation. Biscuit has reached out the the Watson family for further comment.

The attack took place at around 3.30pm on 22d July 2016. Anyone with information is urged to call West Midlands Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Birmingham aint exactly a small village
perhaps telling people the area it happened in might help in the appeal
i’m sure not all 1.2 million residents witnessed it
